Plate-rich plasma(PRP)は自己末梢血を遠心分離して得られる，血小板を多く含む血漿分画であり，成長因子やサイトカインを豊富に含むため，その組織修復や抗炎症作用を期待し変形性膝関節症(膝OA)に用いられる．われわれの施設での奏効率は約60％であり，進行期より早期膝OAで有効率が高い．重症の膝OAやアライメント不良例でのPRP単独治療の効果は限定的であり，他の間葉系組織由来の細胞治療とPRPを組み合わせたり，高位脛骨骨切り術など手術加療と併用したりすることで，関節温存治療に貢献できるツールの1つであると考えている．
