散発性髄膜腫におけるNF2蛋白，mRNAの減弱および22qの欠失について

A Study of Reduction of NF 2 Protein, mRNA and Loss of 22q in Sporadic Meningiomas

　神経線維腫症2型の原因遺伝子であるNF2の異常が散発性の髄膜腫においても報告されている。われわれは散発性の髄膜腫33例についてNFの蛋白およびmRNAの減弱を検索した。NF2蛋白は51.5％の症例で減弱が見られた。mRNAも45.8％の症例で減弱しており，蛋白とmRNAの減弱には有意な関連が見られた。さらに22qの欠失についても調べたところNF2の蛋白およびmRNAの減弱のない症例では22qの欠失は見られず，NF2の異常と22qの欠失は関連していた。

　以上，散発性の髄膜腫においてNF2は約半数の例で異常が見られ，22qの欠失とも関連していることより，その腫瘍発生に関与している可能性が示唆された。

Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF 2) is one of the tumor sup-pressor genes, and its disorder has been reported in sporadic meningiomas. We investigated some reduc-tion of expression of NF 2 protein and mRNA in 33 sporadic meningiomas, using immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization, respectively. Seventeen of 33 (51.5%) meningiomas demonstrated significantly re-duced or absent NF 2 protein expression. Its mRNA was also reduced or absent in 11 of 24 (45.8%) men-ingiomas, and some statistically significant correlation was shown between reductions of NF 2 protein and its mRNA.
