We examined how each frequency of 20 distractors varied, accompanied by Pachinko & Pachi-slot playing disorder progression, which was measured using the Pachinko & Pachi-slot Playing Disorder Scale(PPDS). Distractors such as, “smartphone(internet)” and “gaming” increased significantly. Meanwhile, the absolute number of frequency for “television and video watching” was the highest. These three distractors had the same characteristics as gambling, namely “immediate effectivity” and “sensory advantage”. Therefore, these could co-exist with gambling and were effective as distractors, although the gambling disorder progressed. However, these behaviors are in danger of being addicted. On the other hand, “staying with family” and “exercise” significantly decreased. These two behaviors and gambling are mutually exclusive, therefore they are far from addictive state. Accordingly, we discussed their efficacy as substitute behaviors.
