統合失調症患者の出生日と月の満ち欠けとの関係について

On a Suspected Relationship between Birthdates of Patients with Schizophrenia and Lunar Cycles

　ICD-10に基づいて統合失調症と診断された患者1,062名(男性580名，女性482名)の出生日の月齢分布を調査した。男性患者では明瞭な分布傾向を見いだすことはできなかったが，女性においては望(満月)および朔(新月)の時期に比較的多く，月齢5日前後と20日前後に谷を有するなだらかな分布傾向が比較的に普遍的(p＝0.084)にみられた。しかし当調査では，同分布の不均等性を統計的有意性(p＜0.05)をもって検出するには至らず，さらに母数を増やした調査が望まれる。女性統合失調症患者の出生日にみられる不均一な月齢分布は，人体への潮汐力の影響と関係している可能性がある。

　The distribution of birth-dates as moon-dates in 1062 patients with schizophrenia and lunar cycles was investigated. In the male group, the investigation showed no deviation. In the female group, it showed a couple of dips in the distribution. In terms of the age of the moon, the first dip was located around the fifth moon-day, and the second was around the twentieth moon-day. But the tendency (p＝0.084) was not statistically significant in this study. To clarify it, a further investigation of a larger number of samples should be undertaken. It is suspected that, if there is a relationship between schizophrenia and lunar cycles,it may be caused by the influence of tidal force on the human body.
