  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We report a case of aortic stenosis with multiple myeloma successfully treated by percutaneous trans-luminal aortic valvuloplasty (PTAV). A 72-year-old male was admitted to our hospital because of chest pain on effort. Echocardiography revealed restricted motion of the heavily calcified aortic leaflets. He was diagnosed as having aortic stenosis which was also complicated with multiple myeloma in the 2nd. stage. It was decided to carry out PTAV using INOUE balloon rather than to attempt surgical repair because of the patient's immunodeficiency due to multiple myeloma.
