Blood volume. changes of the thumb, big toe and forehead were observed in various conditions with a use of reflexion photoelectric plethysmograph (R. P. P. )

In normal persons, rest in bed, spontaneous fluctuations or vasomotor responses induced by stimuli were caused in complete coincidence between the thumb and toe, or left and right side. Different pattern of fluctuations were observed in forehead.

For a while after lying in supine position, no coincidence of fluctuations were often found between lett and right side, especially in finger and toe. Although they give an apperarance of antiphase variation between the two, it could be regarded in most case to be induced by the increase of phase-shift. Causes of these discrepancy of fluctuations were discussed.

A definite correlation was not verified between the R. P. P. and skin potential changes.
