要旨●機器の進化により撮影時間が短くなり，等張液で適度に腸管を拡張させた後に，小腸を評価するMREが可能となった．Crohn病は再燃と寛解を繰り返す病気であり，臨床的に寛解であっても，持続的な炎症が腸管狭窄・瘻孔・膿瘍といった合併症を形成する．Crohn病小腸病変のモニタリングは患者予後の向上をもたらすと考えられ，被曝のないMREが非常に有用であると考えられている．MREの導入のためには放射線技師・放射線科医師の協力が必須であるが，MRIや前処置の禁忌がないCrohn病患者すべてがMREの適切な症例であり，普及が進むことが望まれる．本稿では主にCrohn病に対するMREについて解説する．

　Advancement in imaging modalities has shortened the imaging time and thus facilitated the use of MRE（magnetic resonance enterography）for evaluating the small bowel after dilatation of the intestinal tract with isotonic fluid. Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease, and continuous inflammation, even during clinical remission, can lead to intestinal complications such as strictures, fistulas, and abscesses. Monitoring of the small bowel afflicted with Crohn's disease may improve patient prognosis, and MRE without radiation exposure is considered extremely useful. Thus, we believe that patients with Crohn's disease are good candidates for MRE. Herein, we aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of MRE for the evaluation of Crohn's disease.
