Single-balloon Endoscopy with Image Enhancing Techniques

要旨●シングルバルーン内視鏡（SBE）では，NBIに加えて，RDI（red dichromatic imaging），TXI（texture and color enhancement imaging）が使用できる．NBIやTXIでは絨毛の視認性が高い．出血性病変の観察にNBIを用いるとangioectasiaは暗緑色に描出され，アーチファクトとの鑑別に有用である．炎症性腸疾患ではTXIやNBIでびらんの認識が容易となる．また，NBIは潰瘍性病変での上皮欠損の有無や内視鏡的バルーン拡張術の際の拡張部の状態がわかりやすい．SBEでの新しい観察法を活用していきたい．

　Image enhancing techniques used during SBE（single-balloon endoscopy）include NBI（narrow band imaging）, TXI（texture and color enhancement imaging）, and RDI（red dichromatic imaging）. NBI and TXI provide excellent visibility of small bowel villi. Angioectasia appears as a distinct, dark green feature under NBI, aiding in differentiation from artifacts. TXI and NBI facilitate detection of erosions in patients with inflammatory diseases. Furthermore, NBI assists in the evaluation of epithelial defects in ulcerative lesions and the condition of dilated areas during endoscopic balloon dilation. Therefore, incorporating these novel observation methods in SBE will enable comprehensive examination of small bowel lesions.
