A case with two co-existent mucosal carcinomas, correctly diagnosed by preoperative examinations, is reported. This case was first found by chance by gastric mass survey and the patient complained of no abdominal distress.
Although the initial diagnosis was single gastric polyp, subsequent X-ray examinations during the lapse of one year and 9 months disclosed another lesion and our final conclusion before the operation was multiple early cancers of the stomach. Compression was the method of choice, in our case, as it enabled us to ascertain the exact nature of the lesions. By means of endoscopy, two protruding lesions were demonstrated. Pathohistologically they proved to be mucosal carcinomas.
