Three-Dimensional Image Using Helical CT

要旨　ヘリカルCTは撮影台の移動を行いながら立体的な画像情報を得ることができるため，三次元画像表示が可能である．得られる三次元画像にはヘリカルCT画像特有の性質があり，これらを十分に理解したうえで撮影や読影に当たるべきである．消化管におけるヘリカルCTによる三次元画像は，消化管二重造影や内視鏡における微細病変の検出能と比較するとはるかに劣るものであるが，客観性に優れた画像であり，病変の位置関係や大きさ，拡がりの診断に有用である．三次元画像は今後，患者，患者家族や研修医療関係者に対する説明，教育に有用と考えられる．

　Helical computed tomography scanning (helical CT) is a technique in which helical image data is acquired through continuous scanning, providing us three-dimensional image data. Data is then calculated three-dimensionally by computer and enables us to obtain a three-dimensional image. Detectability rate of for small lesions of the gastrointestinal tract is far below that of X-ray double contrast image and endoscopic image. However, three-dimensional image is an optical and objective one. It will be useful for explanation to patients and for training the medical staff.
