- 1ページ目 Look Inside
The capacity of an organism to adapt to changing stimulus conditions in its environment has obvious survival value, and it is dependent on a dynamic nervous system that can be modified by experience. The biological plasticity of the nervous system allows the organism to respond differently in the future based on its past experiences, and this provides the basis for those cognitive processes that neuroscientists refer to as learning and memory These processes are closely related, with "learning" representing the process by which new information is acquired and "memory" denoting the persistence of the process of learning over time (Squire, 1987).
