はじめに

　口腔レンサ球菌（oral streptococci）とはヒトの口腔を中心に存在する一群のレンサ球菌属である。口腔内細菌叢を形成しており，菌種によっては細菌性心内膜炎や深部臓器において重篤な膿瘍感染症を引き起こすことが知られている。今回われわれは，口腔レンサ球菌が検出された真珠腫性中耳炎症例を経験したため，若干の文献的考察を含め報告する。

　Oral streptococci are rarely isolated in middle ear infections. We reported an unusual case of middle ear cholesteatoma infected with oral streptococci. A 31-year-old man presented with a 4-month history of right-sided hearing loss with otorrhea and dizziness. CT scan and intraoperative findings revealed destruction of the auditory ossicles, bone defects in the middle and posterior cranial fossae, and a fistula of the lateral semicircular canal. Streptococcus sanguinis and Streptococcus constellatus were isolated in the mastoid antrum. As shown in the present case, we should be aware that oral streptococci could cause severe middle ear infections.
