私が愛用する眼瞼内反及び外反症術式について

My method of operation for entropion and ectropion

　臨床眼科編輯部秋田氏の来書に曰く，「瞼眼内反び外反手術に関して貴下が日常愛用している方法を，入局したばかりの初心者に示すつもりで書いてみて下さい」という。私は当時身辺多事で，多くの時間を費やして執筆するを好まなかつたが，果して来書の通りとすれば，「眼科書の様に種々なる方法を羅列する必要もなし，よしと観じて行つている方法を，稍詳しく記述すれば足りるのではあるまいか。たとい現在の術式に落ち付くまでに試みて来た方法との優劣を論ずるとしても，多くの時間を要する事もあるまい」と。それで諾の返事を認めた。此の小稿の読者諸賢に予め右御諒承を乞う次第である。

　まず本題に入るに先立つて，内及び外反症手術々式撰択の方針に触れておきたい。

1. Surgery technic for entropion of upper eyelid.

The anterior surface of tarsus is openned by incising the skin of upper lid and wedge-shaped resection of tarsus is performed near the lid margin with base on anterior surface of tarsus and peak on the subconjunctiva. Continuous suture,passing through the anterior surface of tarsus (not through inner side), is done on the upper and lower part of the de-fect area and is tightened at two ends of the suture (Fig. 1). The skin is also thread con-tinuously with the same suture.

2. Surgery technic for entropion of lower lid (can be used for entropion of upper lid).
