　アルカリ糞便菌（Bact．faecalis alcaligenes）は1896年Peteruschkyによつて記載され，小腸の下部，大腸，下水中に存在し，或は牛乳中に認められ，元来は病原性なしとされている。私は容易に治癒しなかった角膜潰瘍から本菌を検出した1例を経験したので報告する。

A male of 31 years old. His right eye suffered corneal ulcer after the extraction of a foreign body. During a process of about a month and a half no perforation or empye-ma in the anterior chamber was observed. Bacilli, negative in Gram staining, which seemed to be alkaline fecal bacteria were detected from the surface of the ulcer. The baccilus showed strong resistance to Penicillin, Aureomycin, and Chloromycetin. But local or general use of Streptmycin or Colimycin gave good results. The sensivity test of va-rious antibiotics gave the similar results.
