要旨　陥凹型の早期胃癌141例，163病変について，同一症例にルーチンX線診断と精密X線診断を行い比較検討した．病変の大きいものほどルーチン診断は容易であり，20mm以下になると20％以上の診断不能例がみられた．19例22病変の微小癌では50％が診断不能であった．微小癌のX線像と切除標本との対比は術後X線像でないと難しく，X線上対象になるのは切除標本で肉眼的に陥凹として認識される範囲にとどまると思われた．

　On 141 cases (163 lesions) of depressed type early gastric cancer, identical cases were examined comparatively in terms of routine diagnosis and detailed x-ray diagnosis. Routine diagnosis was easy for larger lesions, being impossible for more than 20％ of the lesions smaller than 20 mm in size, 50％ of 19 cases (22 lesions) of minute gastric cancer were undiagnosable. Possible comparison between x-ray findings and resected specimens of minute gastric cancer was difficult unless the former has been obtained postoperatively, and roentgenologically diagnosable lesions seemed to be confined to those which can macroscopically be recognized as depressions for their corresponding resected specimens.
