ポイント

◆国際的な健康教育とヘルスプロ—モーションの一例として、ミャンマーの医療制度と公衆衛生の状況について分析・考察した。

◆COVID-19パンデミックの中、内戦が勃発した国内において、医療施設の損害と機能喪失が明らかになった。その影響は社会的弱者で顕著だったが、一方で、プライマリヘルスケアとコミュニティーのリソースを生かし、市民やコミュニティーのレジリエンスを保持する方法が示唆された。

◆コミュニティーが立ち直るためには、国際的支援に加え、市民やコミュニティーが主導で医療や健康増進サービスを受けられるための健康教育とエンパワメントが重要である。

　Myanmar is a country which has stepped into civil war recently at the end of 2021. Political chaos started by the military coup led to civil unrest which is again supressed by the brutal violence. Finally, multiethnic communities formed several groups of militia to resist the military rule in an armed revolution that is joined by civilian servants, students and people across the countries. The situation had caused the collapse of health care system. Original double burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases resurged without control measure. Health promotion and community actions are critically important but lost the way to sustain. This article is a short analysis of Myanmar health system and public health situation, applying data from multiple sources at the end of 2021. The results identified amount of health care facilities damage and functional failure. Analysis and discussion recommended possible recovery pathways to retain the resilience applying primary health care and community resources. Health education and empowerment are more important than ever to enable citizens for self-care and sustain healthy status in Myanmar.
