This pilot study investigates how people's sense of values regarding activities of daily living (ADL) differs according to generation and gender. A survey was conducted on the hierarchy of values regarding ADL by targeting third-year students, along with their parents and grandparents, at this university's rehabilitation department. The study participants were divided into 6 groups: male students, female students, fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers. The analysis was conducted using Thurstone's Paired Comparison. Three characteristic features emerged: those that are common to all generations and genders, those that differ by generation and those that differ by gender. However, we were not able to show constant features about the interval of scaling. We will examine the reliability and the validity of the questionnaire, analyze the data of more subjects and connect it with clinical applications in the future.
