治療を計画するにあたり,次のことを確率するのに必要な方法と器材を選ぶ,

The initial approach to therapy in the young child with a congenital neurological deficit should stress hand use and some form of communication. Walking is much less important, although it often is given prime consideration. Our next concern is the ability of the child to care for himself in his daily activities, to move about in some fashion, to be able to speak and to walk, and finally the appearance of normality and functional normality.
In planning therapy, we should select the method and materials nesessary to establish (1)adequate range of motion, (2)voluntary control of initation of movement, (3)adequate strenght, (4)adequate coordination and (5)adequate balance.
Since independent ambulation will be delayed and in some instances may not be possible, we should begin early to prescribe proper chairs for the home and a wheelchair if indicated.
Unfortunately, no commercially available solid chairs and none of the wheelchairs available support of the handicapped child.
