 The presence of eosinophilia in nasal smears is an important criteria for the diagnosis of nasal allergy and for which Hansel's staining method is widely employed. Lately with the improvement of the staining method the accompanying mast cells are also brought out vividly.

 Under the present method 83 cases of infants were examined and among this number only 4 cases showed no mast cells.
