Wegener肉芽腫症とその類似鼻疾患における血清補体価

SERUM COMPLEMENT MEASUREMENT RELATIVE TO WEGENER'S GRANULOMA AND OTHER RELATED DISEASES

　I．緒言

　Wegener's granulomatosisは鼻腔を含む上気道の壊死性肉芽性変化と全身の血管炎，腎糸球体の変性をともなう予後不良の疾患であるがその本態は不明である。

　耳鼻科領域には上記のWegenerの定義を充足しないが類似の上気道の病変と発熱，全身状態の悪化をきたす予後不良の疾患も少なくない^1）-9）。

　Wegener's granuloma and other related lesions that occur in the nasal cavity have no definite etiology nor favorable prognosis. However, it is possible that the question of immunity may play some part in their etiology.

　Since 1971, the authors have undertaken to make blood test in 14 suspected cases for their serum complement contents. The following results are obtained: (1) Wegener's granuloma and its related nasal lesions showed a definite increase in serum complement.

　(2) When the serum complement shows changes in value, the disease is generally making a poor progress and the prognosis is likewise unreliable.On the other hand, In cases in whom the complement content returned to a normal value, the patient made a response to treatment.

　(3) In 2 cases the complement'showed a marked decrease just prior to their worsening of symptoms. This phenomenon may point to the fact that in the diseased condition the complement system is heavily taxed.
