A man aged 59 was badly burned in the neck by explosion of a firework and develo-ped edema of the larynx presumably as a reaction from the severe burn, and necrosis. The treatment consisted of the open care of the burn, thorough removal of necrotic tissues, ligation of jugular vein, local and parenteral use of antibiotics, administration of cortisone and intrvenous fluids. The patient was cured in 40 days of treatment.
