珪素ゴムの耳鼻咽喉科的応用

　Ⅰ．緒言

　今日耳や鼻の整形に使用される合成樹脂は専らアクリノール系のものであつて，堅くて弾力性がない。製作に時間がかかり且つ操作が煩雑である等の欠点がある。

　次にあまり使用されないがビニール系の合成樹脂がある。此は柔軟にするため沸点の高い粘稠な油が可塑剤として使用されているので永年組織中に入れて置くと油が組織中に浸出して組織を障碍するおそれがある。又温度により軟くなつたり硬くなつたりするので生体内充填材料としては不適当である。故に耳や鼻の整形に用いる基材は適当な弾力性があつて，化学的に安定であり，製作に煩雑でないことが最望ましい。

TAKENAKA and HARA introduce a new ma-terial, silicon coated rubber, which may be used for inserts in plastic surgery. From an-imal experimentations it has been shown that this material differing from plastics of vinyl or acryl origin is resilient by nature of its su-bstance rubber yet, devoid of properties irrita-ting to the tissues by its coating. Where resi-liency is required in inserts of plastic operat-ions this material seems to answer the needs in that it is produced.
