小脳腫瘍の血管内皮細胞における特異なOrganelleについて

A Specific Organelle in the Vascular Endothelial Cells of Cerebellar Neoplasms

Ⅰ．はじめに

　近年，腫瘍が腫瘍細胞以外になぜ血管の新生増殖を生じるかに興味が持たれるようになり^{17，18，22）}，腫瘍細胞にTumor Angiogenesis Factor（TAF）が存在することが明らかとなってきた^6）．TAFは，血管の新生を促し血管内皮細胞内のDNA合成を高め内皮細胞にmitogenicに働くとされている^3，4，6）．しかしながら少くとも脳腫瘍の超微細構造の検索では，通常腫瘍細胞自体の形態に注目されるが腫瘍の一部を形成する"腫瘍血管"にはあまり注意が払われず，ことにその内皮細胞の形態はまだ明らかではない．

　1964年WeibelとPaladeは，正常ラット及びある種の蛙の血管内皮細胞にrod-shaped tubulated bodyと名付けられた新しいorganelleを発見した^24）．これは現在では，血管内皮細胞に特有のもので，種々の正常又は異常組織の血管内皮細胞内に存在することが知られており^{5，14，16，21）}，脳腫瘍血管内皮細胞にも観察されている^{8-10，12，13）}．その機能はまだ不明であるが，内皮細胞の代謝，成長あるいは細胞の機能それ自体に何らかの役割を果すのではないかと考えられる^{1，2，11，14，16，19，24）}．

A "rod-shaped tubulated body" (tubular body) was first described by Weibel and Palade in the vascular endothelial cells of various organs in both man and animals. This is now considered to be an organelle specific to the endothelial cell, but its function is still unknown. Both in experimental and human pathology this organelle has been observed more often in either seemingly young or abnormal endothelial cells of the blood vessels in tissue regeneration, inflammation, brain tumors among others.
