  • Look Inside

A series of acoustically evoked responses which have their peak-latencies within 10 msec. were described by Sohmer (1967, 1970) and Jewett (1970, 1972).

These responses are to be generated at the auditory pathway in brain stein and called Auditory Brain Stem Response (BSR). BSR can be recorded from electrode placed on scalp vertex by averaging 1,000 to 2,000 times, and composed of 5 to 7 waves.

The peak latencies of each component are approximatelly 1.5 msec. (wave-1), 3 msec. (wave-2), 4.1 msec. (wave-3), 5 msec. (wave-4), 6.5 msec. (wave-5) when the stimuli are audible enough.
