大脳皮質誘発電位の成因

Neuronal mechanisms of evoked potentials in the cerebral cortex

　どのような生体現象であっても，究極的に構造と機能の両面から説明されることが求められている。そのために，さまざまな方法を駆使して捉えられた形態的な側面と機能的な側面との対応および統合が繰り返されて来た。本稿では大脳皮質誘発電位の発生がどこまでこのような要求にそって答えられるかを考えてみたい。初めの章では，頭皮上に置かれた電極によって大脳皮質の電位変動（脳波）が記録できる条件は何かというところから出発して脳波の発生の機序を述べ，次章では主としてわれわれの研究施設で行なわれて来た実験の中で，この考えがどのように検証されるかを示す。

Abstract

In this communication, neuronal mechanisms of evoked potentials in the cerebral cortex and those of spontaneous EEG activities were discussed and reviewed in referring to recent electrophysio-logical data obtained mainly in our laboratories. The essential parts of the discussion were as follows.

When we suppose a possible condition thatevoked cortical potentials or EEG can be recordedthrough surface recording electrodes placed onthe scalp, there emerge some requirements instructural and functional substantials.
