Pheromone is one of the most important factors involved in the regulation of animal's social behavior. The vomeronasal system is known to play roles in processing of pheromonal information. The reciprocal synapse in the accessory olfactory bulb, which is the primary center of vomeronasal system, has been known to have a critical role for pheromonal memory. Plasticity of reciprocal synapse has been analized to clarify the relationship between the plasticity of synapse and the memory. Structure of glutamatergic synapses showed the plastic changes.
