The state of the art in neuropsychology of feeling is summarized.

In human studies at least concept of emotion should be separated from concept of feeling. Feeling is defined as a subjective mental experience which exists as the background of overt cognitive processes, i.e. formed mental percepts such as language or declarative memory. In this sense, feeling is un-formed, in-articulate, diffuse mental experience.
