  • Look Inside

Two different types of disorders of color information processing can be identified; i.e., cerebral achromatopsia which is perceptual impairment and color naming defects caused by visual-verbal disconnection. In the present study, we discussed color information processing disorders of these two types taking visual imagery of color into consideration.

The following cases showing color naming defects served as subjects: three patients with cerebral achromatopsia (Cases 1, 2 and 3), two patients with pure alexia of the splenio-occipital or the classical type (Cases 4 and 5) and two patients with the subangular or the non-classical type (Cases 6 and 7) showing color naming defects.
