視床下部ニューロンの向下垂体領域

The hypothalamic area for the control of anterior pituitary hormone secretion in the rat.

はじめに

　1969年以来，視床下部ホルモンであるthyrotropin releasing hormone（TRH），luteinizing hormone releasing hormone（LHRH），somatotropin release inhibiting factor（SRIF），corticotropin releasing factor（CRF），growth hormone releasing factor（GRF）が相次いで単離され，その化学構造が明らかにされてきた。免疫組織化学的観察によって，これら視床下部ホルモンを含むペプチドニューロンは，その神経終末が正中隆起の下垂体門脈系の毛細血管叢の壁に終わっているもののほか，視床下部の内外でシナプスを形成しているものもあることがわかってきた。すなわち，これらの視床下部ホルモンは前葉ホルモン分泌調節ホルモン（向下垂体ホルモン）としての作用のほか，神経伝達物質あるいは神経調節物質としての作用も有していると考えられており，神経系に存在する生理活性ペプチドとともに神経ペプチドといわれるに至った。

　これまでに向下垂体前葉神経細胞の同定をするため，電気的刺激，電気的破壊，ナイフカットなどの方法を用いて多種多様の研究がなされてきたが，いまだ充分に明らかになっていない。

The topographical location of hypothalamic hormone-containing neurons that project to the median eminence was studied. 1) CRF neurons in the paraventricular and periventricular nuclei projected directly to the median eminence. 2) The locations of neurons containing hypophysiotrophic GRF were confined within the arcuate nucleus and the lateral basal hypothalamus. 3) SRIF neurons in the periventricular area projected to the median eminence. 4) Neurons containing hypophysiotrophic TRH were limited within the paraventricular and periventricular nuclei. 5) It is speculated that LHRH neurons in the preoptico-septal area and in the diagonal band of Broca project to the median eminence.
