45歳の女性が後腹膜リンパ節転移を有する左腎腫瘍の治療を目的として来院した。左選択的腎動脈撮影で，この腫瘍は乏血管性であつた。生検の結果，左腎腫瘍は悪性リンパ腫（non-Hodgkin,diffuse,large cell type）と診断された。化学療法を開始するも第24病日に癌死した。剖検所見においては，対側腎に腫瘍は認められず，左腎原発の悪性リンパ腫である可能性が示唆された。
A 45-year-old woman who had noticed malaise and appetite loss in December 1985, was admitted to our department on February 6th because of high fever and chillness. CT scan revealed a huge tumor of the left kidney, 88 × 81 × 120 mm in size, with bulky retroperitoneal lymph node metastases. Biopsy specimen of the renal tumor showed malignant lymphoma of non-Hodgkin, diffuse, large cell type. After rapid increase of the tumor and severe deterioration of general condition, she died on March 1st, 1986.
