  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 28-year-old man had found keratotic papules and small depression on the folds of the palms, which were 8 in number at his first visit. The small depression was a secondary change after the removal of the small keratotic plugs from the papules with needle.

Histologic specimen from the depression showed the depressed epidermis and hyperkeratosis and acanthosis. Specimen from the papules showed the keratotic plugging, hyperkeratosis and funnel-shaped depression of the epidermis, through the center of which the intraepidermal sweat duct was running.

This ease resembled "a new type of symmetrical punctate keratosis" by Matsumoto, and cases re-ported by Arnold or Fischer. The histologic finding of this case which showed the papules accompanied with the sweat pore corresponded to the Matsumoto's case.

The nature of this disease is unknown. Although Arnold of Fischer regarded the disease as an atypical type of Kyrle's disease, there are many points which differ from Kyrle's disease. The author regarded the ease as a type of Keratosis punctata according to Matsumoto.
