（25C2-10）　1996年3月より5月までの3か月間に，阪和泉北病院に入院中の眼感染症のない65歳以上の高齢者，150例300眼を対象に結膜嚢内常在菌を検索した。201眼（67％）に菌が検出され，総株数は247株であつた。表皮ブドウ球菌は141株で，そのうちメチシリン耐性表皮ブドウ球菌（MRSE）は29株（20.6％），黄色ブドウ球菌は41株で，そのうちメチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌（MRSA）は19株（46.3％）に認められた。MRSAとMRSEの検出頻度は，7年前の当施設での結果と比較して増加していた。MRSAはニューキノロン系薬剤に対して高い耐性を示した。

We tried to isolate bacterial organisms in the conjunctival sac in 300 eyes of 150 hospitalized patients without signs of eye infection. A total of 247 bacterial strains were isolated from 201 eyes (67%) . Staphylococcus epidermidis was the most frequent at 141 strains, including 29 methicillin-resistant strains, MRSE (21%) . Staphylococcus aureus was isolated from 41 eyes, including 19 methicillin-resistant strains, MRSA (46%) . Resistance to NFLX and OFLX was present in 80% of the MRSA strains. The incidence of MRSE and MRSA showed an increase in the present study in 1996 as compared with our data in 1989.
