梅毒性視神経炎の2例

Two cases of syphilitic optic neuritis

　両眼の乳頭浮腫と視野障害を主症状とする梅毒性視神経炎が，36歳と48歳の女子2例に発症した。梅毒血清反応陽性と髄液細胞数増加から，梅毒性髄膜炎に伴う視神経炎と考えられた。1例では乳頭浮腫が高度で片眼の視力低下があったが，他の1例では視力低下がなく，梅毒性の視神経鞘炎と解釈された。2例とも駆梅療法で，視機能が改善し，乳頭浮腫が消退した。

Syphilitic optic neuritis with bilateral optic disc edema and visual field disturbances developed in two females aged 36 and 48 years. Positive serologic tests for syphilis and pleocytosis of cerebrospinal fluid led to the diagnosis of optic neuritis secondary to syphilitic meningitis. One case showed marked disc edema with unilateral decrease of visual acuity. Visual acuity was intact in the other case presumably due to optic perineuritis. Systemic treatment for syphilis resulted in improvement in visual functions and disappearance of disc edema.
