Noise-field test is a method of campimetry utili-zing the noise field of a TV screen. We observed 12 eyes, 6 cases, who manifested enlarged blind spot twice the normal size and who failed to be detected by the Noise-field test. The underlying cause was tilted disc 2 cases, superior temporal optic dischypoplasia 2, doloboma of the optic disc and the retina 1 and congenital posterior cerebral atrophy 1. The underlying causes and visual field defects were thus apparently congenital in nature. The Noise-field test may be of value in distinguish congenital visual field defects from acquired ones.
