（1）片眼の弱視が疑われた乳幼児30例（4カ月〜1歳8カ月）について，preferential looking法を用いて視力を測定した。

（2）このうち6例（角膜切創1，眼窩蜂窠織炎既往例2，内斜視1，外斜視2）では弱視が発見されたため，健眼遮閉を開始すると共にPL法による視力の経過を追い，弱視の治癒を得た。

（3）弱視の認められなかった24例の中に，片眼性先天性眼瞼下垂5例，片眼の生下時黄斑部出血既往例2例が含まれていた。

（4）弱視とくに視性刺激遮断弱視の予防と治療のためには，2歳頃までの特に感受性の高い期間内に視力の左右差を知ることが何よりも重要であり，その手段としてPL法はたいへん有用である。

　Visual acuity was examined by the preferential looking method for suspected unilateral decrease of visual acuity in 30 infants ranging from 4 to 20 months in age.

　Decrement of visual acuity of one eye was encountered in 6 cases (corneal scar 1, orbital cellulitis 2, esotropia 1, and exotropia 2) out of the 30 cases. Successful recovery of visual acuity was obtained by sound eye occlusion with a close followup of visual acuity of both eyes by this method.
