緒　言

　「海綿静脈洞，上眼窩裂，眼窩漏斗先端部の非特異的炎症に由来する有痛性眼筋麻痺（painfulophthalmoplegia）」はTolosa-Hunt症候群と呼ばれ，1954年Tolosa^1）の報告，1961年Huntら^2）の6例の報告があり，1966年SmithおよびTax-dal^3）が追加報告するとともにTolosa-Hunt症候群と名付けたものである。ステロイド療法が著明な効果をみせることが特徴である。Huntはこの疾患に対し明確な基準をもうけているが，それにあてはまるTolosa-Hunt症候群の1例を経験したので報告し，あわせて文献的考察をおこなう。

A 76-year-old female was admitted to our clinic with complaints of sustained pain in the right orbit radiating towards the right temporal region associated with nausea, diplopia and right ptosis since two months before. Neurological exa-minations revealed right ptosis. The right pupil was mydriatic and did not react to light. The right eye was totally ophthalmoplegic. Fundu-scopic findings were unremarkable. There was hypethesia in the right half of the horehead. Laboratory data showed increased sedimentation rate (88mm/hr) and positive CRP (⧺).
