  • Look Inside

Two cases of carotid cavernous fistula which were improved spontaneously were reported. Sta-tistical study on the disease was also made.

Case 1 : 11-year-old boy. He was struck on the right eye with a top of an umbrella. Three mon-ths later he developed exophthalmos, hypermia and chemosis of bulbar conjunctiva. One month later abrupt diminution in visual acuity, an in-crease in exophthalmos, fundus changes such as papilledema, congestion and tortuosity of re-tinal venules, and retinal haemorrhages ap-peared. An angiographic examination of cerebral vessels revealed carotid cavernous fistula.
