変形性膝関節症（以下膝O. A.）で従来の保存的療法の限界を越えながら，患者の手術への不安や意欲の欠如等の理由から観血的療法が行えない場合が多い．このような症例に対して従来は，漫然とステロイド関注が行われる場合が多かったが，当科では昭和52年以来，膝装具の開発を行い改良を加えた結果，現在は治療成積も安定し当科の膝O. A.治療法の一環として確立しているので報告する．
