　一般に，四肢外傷後の骨化性筋炎の初期治療は，安静・薬物療法が一般的であり，初期での観血的侵襲は骨化増大が懸念される．一方，脊椎骨折後の骨化性筋炎に対する観血的治療については，報告が少なく，意見の分かれるところである．今回われわれは，腸腰筋に骨化性筋炎を来した腰椎破裂骨折に対し脊椎固定術を行い，症状軽快と骨化消失を得た1例を経験した．

　The usual initial treatment of myositis ossificans after an injury to a limb is rest and drug therapy.　The symptoms of myositis ossificans may be exacerbated, if surgery is performed in the initial stage.　The treatment of myositis ossificans after a lumbar spine fracture, on the other hand, is a matter of controversy.　Because there have been few reports on surgical treatment.　We report a case of myositis ossificans (iliopsoas muscle) after a lumbar burst fracture in which the symptoms improved and the myositis ossificans resolved after spinal fusion surgery.
