We investigated the test-retest reliability of the 10-second test in 37 cervical myelopathy patients without postoperative complications enrolled in the study. Their neurological status was the same at 6 months postoperatively and 12 months postoperatively according to the Japan Orthopaedic Association (JOA) scores. Medical records were reviewed for the results of the 10-second test and showed that at 6 months postoperatively they were 26.0±6.1 on the right and 25.7±5.9 on the left and that at 12 months postoperatively they were 25.9±5.8 on the right and 26.4±5.9 on the left. The intraclass correlation coefficients ranged from 0.74 to 0.84, indicating that the test is highly reliable. The results showed that the 10-second test is a reliable test for use in cervical myelopathy patients, who undergo frequent examinations and have a more cooperative attitude toward examinations than healthy volunteers.
