We conducted a questionnaire survey on long-term school closures and reopening due to COVID-19 among children attending a child psychiatric outpatient clinic at a university hospital and their families. As a result, 105 questionnaires were accumulated. The responses were divided into positive, neutral, and negative groups and analyzed. More children responded positively to long-term school closures than those who responded negatively. Many of the long-term school closure negative groups shifted to the positive group when schools resumed, and many of the positive groups during long-term school closures shifted to the negative group when schools resumed. We investigated whether differences due to various background factors and developmental characteristics were found to clarify what lies behind these results. As a result, it was found that there may be differences due to environmental factors and underlying developmental characteristics. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the educational system has become more diversified, such as online classes.
