  • Look Inside

Age disorientation is defined as a five-year discrepancy between true and subjective ages. The present study was designed to investigate, in chronic schizophrenics, the relation of age orientation to temporal orientation, part of which is the temporal ordering of remote memory.

Method

Subject: Sixty-one chronic schizophrenics (37 male and 24 female) who had had a hospital stay exceeding ten years were studied (Table 1). Stimulus: "A photograph set" consisting of 30 newsworthy photographs. There were 5 photos selected from each of these 6 periods: (1)1945-47, (2)51-54, (3)59-60, (4)66-70, (5)74-77 and (6) 83-85.
