Campylobacter enterocolitis is caused through oral infection of mainly Campylobacter jejuni. Contaminated chicken meat is the most common source of infection. After 2-5 day's interval, symptoms such as diarrhea, hematochezia, fever, abdominal pain and nausea develop. Recently, Campylobacter enterocolitis is regarded as a cause of Guillain-Barre syndrome. Colonoscopic findings include patchy erythemas, hemorrhagic spots, erosions, ulcers, and granular mucosa. These findings show scattered distribution throughout the whole area of the large intestine and these lesions are intermingled with mucosa having normal vascular pattern. The most specific colonoscopic finding is a shallow ulcer with distinct margin on the ileocecal valve, from which finding Campylobacter enterocolitis is highly suspected.
