Parkinson's disease (PD) is a heterogeneous neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a wide range of motor and non-motor symptoms. Dysarthria in PD also exhibits significant variability in its presentation, influenced by individual physical symptoms and the effects of medication. Understanding these factors is essential for effective speech intervention. Treatment strategies for dysarthria in PD encompass not only structured therapeutic approaches but also techniques such as speech rate control and the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. Selecting the most appropriate method requires careful consideration of the needs and abilities of each person with PD (PwP). Furthermore, given the chronic and progressive nature of PD, multidisciplinary collaboration is vital to ensure comprehensive and personalized long-term support that aligns with PwP's evolving conditions and living environments.
