助産所における夫立ち会い出産の体験

Experiences of Husbands' Attending Childbirth at Maternity Homes

要旨

　目的：助産所における夫立ち会い出産がどのように体験されているのかについて，夫婦それぞれの視点から明らかにすることを目的とした．

　方法：過去1年以内に助産所で立ち会い出産をした妻と夫を対象とした．半構造化面接で得たデータを内容分析で分析した．

　結果：妻9名，夫7名が参加した．妻の視点では【出産時に夫にして欲しいことを考える】，【出産時に夫にして欲しいことの実現に向けて準備する】，【夫に支えられ出産に臨む】，【夫の関わりを肯定的に受け止める】，【夫の関わりを否定的に受け止める】，夫の視点では【出産時に自分ができることを考える】，【出産時に妻をサポートできるよう準備する】，【自分なりにできることを考えて実行する】，【妻・助産師に促されて妻をサポートする】のカテゴリーが抽出された．

　結論：妻は夫の関わりを肯定的にも否定的にも受け止めていた．夫による妻へのサポートは，夫が自ら考えたサポートも，妻や助産師から促されたサポートもあった．

　Purpose: This study explores how couples experience husbands' attending childbirth at maternity homes, from the viewpoint of wives who have experienced husbands attending childbirth and husbands who have attended the birth of their children in maternity homes.

　Methods: This study recruited wives who gave birth in maternity homes with their husbands present within the preceding year, along with husbands who had attended their wives' childbirth within the past year. Data obtained from semi-structured interviews were analyzed using content analysis.

　Results: Nine wives and seven husbands participated in the study. There were categories from the viewpoint of wives: 1)considering what I want my husband to do at childbirth, 2)preparing to actualize what I want my husband to do at childbirth, 3)being supported by husband at childbirth, 4)thinking positively about husband's support, and 5)thinking negatively about husband's support. There were categories from the viewpoint of husbands: 1)considering what I can do at childbirth, 2)preparing to be able to support my wife at childbirth, 3)carrying out what I can do to support my wife, and 4)implementing wives or midwives' suggestions regarding the support needed.

　Conclusion: Wives thought positively or negatively about their husbands' support depending on time. Husbands carried out what they could do to support their wives. Husbands sometimes provided support based on their wives or midwives' suggestions.
