The purpose of this paper is to explain changes in physiological functions of 12 patients with schizophrenia at an acute psychiatric care ward and accompanying occupational therapy. Using clinical records we recorded the period of sleep, body temperature, heart rate, number of bowel movements and urination of the patients during the length of their hospital stay. Physiological functions were stable at the beginning of the day of occupational therapy and they had since more until the end of the hospital stay. These results suggest that occupation therapy programs start at stable condition and advance their physiological functions more in acute schizophrenic patients.
