The development of hemodialytic treatment helped improve the survival rate of hemodialysis patients. But new problems have come up, such as an increase of chronic hemodialysis patients who usually have many complications caused by long-term hemodialysis, original disease or by aging. We therefore made up a plan to improve the ADL and QOL of those patients. We picked up three patients with visual disturbances to improve their ADL and QOL by means of small group Occupational Therapy.
We focused on one of them and we considered her case based on a Model of Human Occupation (MOHO). As the result, there was no remarkable change observed in her physical functions and ADL, while her psychological state, independency and motivation were improved.
