Parastomal hernia is one of the late complications of colostomy and occurs at a high rate. The usefulness of the laparoscopic Sugarbaker method has been reported recently. However, the ParietexTM composite parastomal mesh Sugarbaker (indirect) method: center band type (Covidien), which is often used, is subject to product collection because of the possibility of mesh breakage. In the case of parastomal hernia after Mile's operation, we performed a laparoscopic Sugarbaker method by using the SymbotexTM composite mesh (Covidien) with collagen film used for repairing abdominal scar hernia. It seems that the strength of the mesh is increased by folding the mesh in two, and the effect of the collagen film can be expected to prevent damage to the elevated intestinal tract and adhesion of the abdominal organs.
