Tanaka and Muramatsu report a case of meta-static chorioma in a woman, 47 years of age, who presented a history of having suffered of persecution psychosis one year previous to the onset of present illness. Present symptoms be-gan with bloody sputum, profuse epistaxis, and metrorrhagia. On physical examination, a tumor of a large, smooth and oblong in shape with da-rk purplish color was found in the left canine fossa. A considerable portion of this tumor with irregular surface and with similar derkqurplish color appeared to be protruding into the left na sal cavity. Another large mass as large as the size of a fist was found in the right thigh. X-ray examination of the chest revealed the prese-nce of tumors in the middle and lower lobe of the right lungs.

Epistaxis was persistently uncontrolable until when ligation of left external carotid artery had been accomplished. Simultaneously at this time, the tumor mass in the nasal region was remo-ved. The patient soon progressed into a state of acute anemia and died. Microscopic examination of the removed specimen showed it to be a chorioma. Necropsy on the patient was unobtain-able. Growths found in other localities werr pre-sumed to have been those of similar character-a chorioma.
