INTRAVENOUS USE OF SODIUM BICARBONATE IN UNDULATION DISEASE
Note;Undulation disease is a new word proposed to imply physiological disturbances caused upon the rider of vehicle or transportation by its wavelike motions.
The Autnor constructed an apparatus for perpendicular movements wnich made 63 up-and-down trips per minute. Rabbits were used as experimnntal animals. It was observed that, when the animal was placed on this apparatus and the movements continued, its blood pressure and pulse rates were increased;respiration became more shallow and numerous and intestinal peristalsis were definitely inhibited. There wer also manifest changes in the blood pictures and urinalysis, if the movements were continued long enough.
